We want to say a hearty “thanks!” to Capt. Dave Lauer for a fun day of fishing on Okeechobee. He was experienced, more than capable, helpful (but not pesty), and knew the lake well. He is a great guide for experienced anglers but offered us new tips on our casting and tackle, too. We used live bait and caught mostly largemouth bass, but a few nice catfish, too. We will be happy to recommend Capt. Dave and to use him again next time we’re down that way.
I included a photo of our best catches and one with the catfish, too, since that was an unexpected haul. (And yes, as forecast by Dave, I slightly out-fished my husband!) Thanks for a great day!
