Today’s we are fishing with the Hyre family for there 2nd day in South Florida. On day two they have decided to go Florida Peacock Bass with us. Originally Chris and her daughter were going to stay in the area and go shopping while dad enjoyed a day of fishing. But after catching over 60 bass in the Everglades yesterday, all three of them could not resist the chance to catch a Peacock bass.
The draw a nice day for fathers day, with a steady lite breeze and slightly over cast. The Hyre family are from Elkton, RI so there’s nothing like these Peacock bass up that way but maybe a small-mouth bass.
We mainly fished with shiners because of having three people on the boat and we wanted there twelve year old daughter to put a few of these fish in the boat, and did she ever.
They caught about 28, and had a chance at 40 Peacock bass in 6 hours. Take a close look at the pictures above, is there a better fathers day gift to give?
It was great to have them down for the holiday, it was so busy for the weekend with fathers day. Hope you had a chance to get out yourself, if not give us a call. It’s never to late late!
