FWC stocks hybrid bass at Lake Bryant
Lake Bryant offers some of the best freshwater fishing for largemouth bass and bream in the region. To provide anglers with another species, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission recently stocked about 25,000 hybrid bass in the lake.
The fish should reach 8 to 10 inches in length in one year and 14 to 18 inches in length and 2 to 3 pounds in weight in two years, according to a press release. Fisheries staff will evaluate the effort over three years.
FWC Boating and Waterways staff recently refurbished the launching ramp at Lake Bryant and assisted in enlarging the parking area near the ramp.
