This is Captain Mark Shepard with your May 12th, 2015 Lake Okeechobee fishing report.
Well folks out in the water today with Chris and his friend, these guys are from Indiana. Chris has fished with me in the past, but this was his friend’s first time. Mother nature has been really cruel the last few days. Yesterday really good numbers, around 50 but nothing big. Today it was pretty rough, waves out of nowhere…my whole boat is soaked, waves crushing all the way up to the sits! Just doing a short half-day trip out in Clewiston. Today the numbers were surprisingly pretty good…just like the quality! Weather is a little bit tropical – breezy lately, it is supposed to get a little hotter but it hasn’t happened yet. Last week we had a tropical storm… hopefully that is the last of the heavy winds, water will clear up eventually. Anyways, we caught beautiful fish. Okeechobee is on fire! My favorite time of the year is coming! Just wait for the wind and water to calm down…
Captain Mark Shepard here…tight lines!
